The Chicago Women's Alliance and the Lurie Children's Hospital Social Workers invite you to see the new, state-of-the-art Lurie Children's Hospital and to hear Professor Deborah Gorman-Smith speak about her research at the Chicago Center for Youth Violence Prevention.

For over 20 years, Professor Gorman-Smith and her fellow researchers at the Chicago Center for Youth Violence Prevention have been committed to studying and preventing youth violence. Their multidisciplinary approach pays particular attention to the roles that family and community play in creating systems of strength and resilience that reduce the risks of youth victimization and aggression.

Just as our speaker is nationally recognized as an advocate for evidence-based social policy, Lurie Children's Hospital is breaking ground in the area of evidence-based design of hospitals. Investigations continue on the role of respite and play spaces in pediatric health and healing, the role of public/private partnerships in decorating spaces to reduce stress for all, and so on. Features, like the Crown Sky Garden are many and amazing. Sign up for a tour with CWA.
