Inaugural CWA Speaker, Hedy Ratner, is Featured in Chicago Tribune
Hedy Ratner, co-founder of the Women’s Business Development Center in 1986, and Carol Dougal, have stepped aside as co-directors of WBDC. She will remain on the Center’s Board of Directors. Ms. Ratner, a 1974 graduate of the U of C School of Library Science, was the inaugural speaker for the then newly formed Chicago Women’s Alliance on March 7, 2007. Over 85 women came to hear her speak on “Reinventing Yourself” and transitions in mid-career such as forming your own business.
Since then, over 350 U of C alumnae, faculty, administrators, research associates, etc. have identified themselves as Chicago Women’s Alliance members.
