UC Ski Weekend at Squaw Valley, CA
Join us April 1 - 3, 2016 for some great outdoor activities, conversation, and more of the life-long learning that you've come to expect from University of Chicago Alumni events. Everyone is welcome!

Reno/Tahoe locals Patty Fox AB 88, Philip Lisagor MD'72 and Susan Blumenfeld Lisagor AB'72 in conjunction with the San Francisco Bay Area University of Chicago Alumni Club and with the Squaw Vally Institute are assembling a Ski and Winter Sports Weekend at Squaw Vally, CA April 1-3 (the height of spring skiing).
Housing will be at The Resort at Squaw Creek. Skiing and instruction will be at Squaw Valley. Additional activities include: snowshoeing, cross country skiing, dog sled rides, Lake Tahoe cruises, spa, yoga, libations—plenty of activities for skier and non-skier alike. Families and friends welcome.
In addition to wine and cheese, the aprês-ski experience will include a daily mini symposium on:
Featured Symposium I: From Thomas Mann’s Magic Mountain to today’s ski film producers.
The representation of Snow and Skiing.
Featured Symposium II: Climate change today with a Geophysics professor and a
representative of Squaw Valley Ski Corporation discussing winter sports and climate change.
Featured Symposium III: Great Books and the War on Terror—the role of the humanities in our culture and our involvement in foreign affairs.
