BALLOTREADY: 21ST CENTURY BALLOT-READINESS”– ALEX NIEMCZEWSKI, CEO
Elections matter! Hear about an exciting and civic-minded innovation, from UChicago alumna Alex Niemczewski, AB ’09, CEO and Co-Founder of BallotReady.
Come hear UChicago alumna Alex Niemczewski, AB ’09, CEO and Co-Founder of BallotReady, talk about BallotReady.org, which has everything you want to know when you go to vote - in one easy place!
BallotReady's mission is to create a more informed electorate and strengthen our democracy by helping voters vote informed, all the way down the ballot: BallotReady is a non-partisan platform enabling voters to easily research and understand every candidate and referendum vying for their vote. While we enjoy a boxed lunch, Alex will provide a quick history of the problem she saw, and the subsequent startup effort that’s solving it. In addition, she’ll do a live demonstration of their website, which has new features this year.
On this website, you can get to know candidates as you learn about their education, careers and families; find out which organizations, newspapers and elected officials are backing each candidate; see what candidates are saying about issues relevant to the offices they seek; and check out the latest news about local candidates.
Following Alex’s presentation, the audience will have a chance to ask questions and join in the discussion.
