It's YOUR Government: Take Charge

This program is for anyone, regardless of party affiliation, who just wants to stay informed as a voter or who is considering the bigger step of running for office.

Please join us as we hear two speakers who are passionate about politics and democracy. Come hear the Co-founder of BallotReady, the revolutionary voting app that is helping citizens become more informed voters "all the way down the ballot." BallotReady was founded by Alex Niemczewski and Aviva Rosman and was launched out of the University of Chicago's Institute of Politics in 2014. Matt McWhinney will speak on the in-and-outs of getting on the ballot as a candidate and running for office. Matt is on the Steering Committee of the NDFA and became actively involved in Chicago politics when his wife first ran for office. His wife is currently running for the Illinois House, so Matt has a front row seat to politics in action. Matt is also part of a group that offers a "boot-camp" for prospective candidates considering running for office.
