Chicago Detours Presents: Badass Women of Chicago History Event

A storytelling event special for Women’s History Month - the stories of Chicago heroines we have never heard

On Monday, March 26, Chicago Detours (founded by UChicago alumna, Amanda Scotese, AM '13) will be hosting “Badass Women in Chicago History,” a storytelling event special for Women’s History Month. Lively presenters, which will be announced in mid-February, will tell us the stories of Chicago heroines we have never heard. Stories will be enhanced with some kind of media, such as a song, artifact, or visual presentation.

For this special Chicago Detours event, you won’t hear the names we already know, like Jane Addams, Jane Byrne, and Gwendolyn Brooks. Figures may be political leaders, business women, and community organizers, but also the everyday laborers, mothers, heroines, creators, scientists and other unsung figures of Chicago history!
